The former Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi has reportedly died from COVID-19 complications.
According to multiple online reports, Ajimobi who was recently appointed as the Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress by the National Working Committee of the party died due to Coronavirus complications at the age of 70.
It had earlier been reported that the former governor fell ill after testing positive to Coronavirus and was reported to be in a critical condition before the time of his death.

A former Senator, he governed Oyo State for eight years and is currently the APC NWC-recognised National Chairman.

Ajimobi ruled Oyo State for eight years before he was appointed by Adams Oshiomhole as the Deputy National Chairman (South-West) of APC.
Ajimobi was a former Managing director at the National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company, a subsidiary of Shell Petroleum Company.
