Buhari didn’t say Nigeria youths are lazy – Barr Odok

Barrister Joseph Odok of the University of Calabar has said that President Muhammadu Buhari didn’t say Nigerian youths are lazy.

Barr Odok who spoke with DAILY POST on phone on Thursday lamented the attitude of some Nigerians when it comes to comments.

He said President Buhari said most Nigerian youths have not gone to school but want everything free.

“Buhari didn’t say Nigeria youths are lazy. He said most Nigerian youths have not gone to school but want everything free. He made the statement in the context to Agriculture, when he was talking about investments in Agriculture, that opportunity is in the farm.

Bar Odok explained that Nigerian youths are shying away from trade and investment. President Buhari was quoted out of context.

“It is not true. He didn’t refer to Nigerian youths as lazy people. He said most Nigerian youths have not gone to school but want everything free. He didn’t say they are lazy,” he stated.

It would be recalled that President Buhari, speaking at the Commonwealth Business Forum in Westminster on Wednesday, said youths prefer to do nothing because they feel Nigeria is an oil-rich nation.
