30BG camp is filled with excitement at the moment and Davidos fans worldwide are dominating social media trends as their general Davido has been named among the Time Magazine 100 Next Most Influential people.

 

Davido took to his official Instagram handle @davido to reveal it to his fans and supporters worldwide with the following update:

 

“Proud to be included in the inaugural #TIME100NEXT list @time”

 

 

 

Davido was included on the list for his contribution to Afro Beats popularity on the biggest streaming platforms worldwide, and his contribution to the #EndSARS protest in Nigeria against Police Brutality and bad governance. He is the only African musician on the list. Other Nigerians that made it to the list are:
Ijeoma Oluo, Feyikemi FK Abudu, Odunayo Eweniyi, Damilola Odufuwa, Olugbenga Agboola, and Nse Ufot.

 

Time began the 100 Next Most Influential People list in 2019 as a subsidiary of their 100 Most Influential People In the World list, which was first published in 1999 and became an annual publication in 2004.

 

The list is compiled by Time Magazines Alumni of selected writers and individuals that make the list are selected for their ability to make history through their remarkable impact in the field of entertainment, sports, business, politics, science, health, education, and their immediate environment or society.

Davido earlier got a GOLD certification from the Recording Indusry Association of America ( RIAA ) for his 2017 hit single ‘IF.’
To receive a GOLD Certification in the United States, a song has to sell 500, 000 copies.

 

He received a GOLD certification from RIIA for the song ‘FALL’ in March 2020. The song has also been certified GOLD in Canada and it holds the record for the longest charting Nigerian Pop Song in Billboard History.

 

Celebrating this feat, Davido took to Instagram and posted the folowing update:

 

“My 2nd Gold record !!! Oh God I am Grateful !! The Only two Afro beats solo singles to go Gold in the USA in Afro beats history !! God is good !!! ❤️❤️ MORE TO COME !”
