Emery yet to receive Arsenal offer

The former PSG boss says he has not had an offer from the Gunners, but would be open to receiving one

Unai Emery insisted he was yet to receive an offer to be the next Arsenal manager, but he is open to every opportunity.

The Spaniard has been linked to the Premier League giants as Arsene Wenger’s replacement with his two-season stay at Paris Saint-Germain coming to an end.

While Emery is ready for a new opportunity, the 46-year-old said he was yet to receive an offer from Arsenal.

“I have no offer,” he told Cadena SER. “Possibilities open up that can be concrete or not. I am open to everything. I don’t think about stopping coaching.”

Emery led PSG to the Ligue 1 title, Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue this season, while he previously won the Europa League three times at the helm of Sevilla.

The French giants swept all before them domestically, and are 15 points clear of Monaco ahead of the final day of the season. They face Caen to wrap up what has been an exceptionally successful season.

Emery, nonetheless, will leave the club at the end of the season, with Thomas Tuchel announced as his replacement. The former Borussia Dortmund manager has signed a two-year contract with the Parisian giants, and will take over after the World Cup in Russia this summer.

Arsenal, of course, are seeking a new manager for the first time since 1996, with Arsene Wenger having managed the club for the final time against Huddersfield Town at the weekend.

The Gunners finished sixth in the Premier League, their lowest ever league finish under Wenger, and former midfielder and current Manchester City assistant Mikel Arteta appears to be leading the queue to replace him.

Indeed, City boss Pep Guardiola has maintained that he will not stand in Arteta’s way if an approach is made.

Wenger, meanwhile, has claimed that he has no intention of remaining in the Premier League as he seeks his next job, with the Frenchman linked with a potential move into directorship.

Emery has also attracted interest from West Ham, with David Moyes unsure of his future at the London Stadium after a disappointing season.
