COMING after signing a deal with the Virgin EMI, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group, singer Timi Dakolo, will release his first album under the label. The album is titled, ‘Merry Christmas Darling.’
Dakolo who shared the news on his Instagram on Wednesday wrote, “Its Finally Here!!! My new album “Merry Christmas Darling” is coming out November 22nd, and my album titled, Single, featuring @emelisande is out this Friday 8th November.”
The singer announced his new deal with EMI via his Instagram page on Monday. The message read: “He said Hello Timi, My name is @ted_cockle and I am the Chairman of Virgin EMI Records @virginemi � �@universalmusicgroup. I just want to personally welcome you home.”
In a second post, he appreciated God’s influence in his life.
“You can’t take God out of the Equation,GOD is the Equation.”
Virgin EMI is a subsidiary of Universal Music Group and it was founded in 2013. The company is a merger of Mercury Records and Virgin Records. Currently, the label operates two A&R and marketing streams in Virgin Records and EMI Records respectively.
Timi Dakolo emerged winner of the inaugural season of Idols West Africa in 2007.
