VICTOR AD I DID NOT WRITE JOWO FOR DAVIDO
We woke up to a rumour today that Victor AD and Davido are having a clash over the rights to the ownership of the song JOWO that is one of the hit songs of Davidos 2020 released album A BETTER TIME.
According to the rumours, Victor AD had wtitten the song for himself, Davido came around while he was recording it and begged him to allow him add the song on the A BETTER TIME album as a feature which they both agreed on, but he later took credit for the song and performed it alone on promise to settle Victor AD financially which he did not honor.
The clash got to the general public when Victor AD confronted him while celebrating his 10 years in the industry and ask for his payment or he let the world know he wrote the song for him on agreement he would pay which he has refused to honor. Rather than Davido to obey his part of the bargain, he chose to intimidate him with thugs which led to the singer coming out to tell the world he wrote the song.
Soon as i saw the trend, i wanted to work on it but then my instinct said i should go listen to Victor AD songs and compare them to JOWO. I did and discovered he couldnt have written JOWO. First JOWO had some Yoruba lyrics which is not his style. His style is missing Nigerian Pidgin language and English which depicts his home town Warri. Again, it is not his style to name his songs with Yoruba. These points made me debunk the rumours and wait if i would get a statement from either of them. Luckily for me, Victor AD saw the trend and said the following about the rumours via his official twitter handle @victor_adere :
“Omo no be me write JOWO for
@davido I don’t know where all this is coming from. make una let baba celebrate him 10yrs in peace #olofofo.”
There you have it. He has said it himself that he didnt write JOWO for Davido its all just unnecessary rumours.
