Biography Of Jide Kosoko

Prince Babajide Kosoko was born on the 12th of January 1954 into a royal family in Lagos State, Lagos Island to be precise, he was raised in Ebute Meta of Lagos and there are facts that he started acting at the age of 10.

Jide Kosoko even after having his education at Yaba College of Education he proceeded to study more to add to his CV when he clocked 60 years of age. We will tell you more on his education as you read along.

Jide Kosoko as stated earlier started acting when he was a kid, he has been in the movie industry for decades now and he is known to always being serious with every acting role assigned to him.

In 1964, Jide Kosoko started his professional acting career officially, he gained popularity after acting in a stage play titled “Makanjuola”, there was a call on who will take the lead role of which he applied and luckily for him he was chosen, that was where his journey into Nollywood began.

After working for 8 years with the Ifelodun Travelling Theatre group, in 1972 Jide Kosoko formed and started his own group which he called Jide Kosoko Theatre Company.

Also, Jide Kosoko is part of the popular Awada Kerikeri group which was created by Oga Bello (Adebayo Salami) and has other prominent Nollywood actors and actresses like Sola Sobowale, Femi Adebayo, Lanre Hassan, Sunday Omobolanle and many more, the group Awada Kerikeri produces a Pidgin-English program which is always shown weekly.
